My Portfolio

Here is an overview of the data-related projects I have worked on.
Associated links are available for the projects that do not contain proprietory content.

Top Music Analysis

What: Three, interconnected dashboards displaying interactive figures pertaining to track, artist, and album data from the top 50 hits in several genres spanning five years. A custom web API and analysis report accompany the data visualizations.

Why: Supplies rising artists with data to support their decision making when striving for success in the music industry.

Skills strengthened: data visualization, data analysis, design flow/hierarchy, critical thinking, independent learning, coding, resourcefulness

Technologies used: Looker Studio, Python (VS Code, Jupyter Notebook, Kaggle), MS Word / Google Docs

Material Lifetime Calculator

What: Created an intuitive, simple yet effective, dashboard and app that calculates the lifetime of a lithium extracting material before capacity will decrease, based off user-defined parameter values.

Why: Provides instant numbers supported by scientific research to assist in business negotiations, thus securing deals faster.

Skills strengthened: data analysis, independent learning, communication, collaboration, design flow/hierarchy, creativity

Technologies used: Power BI, MS Excel

Streamline Data Input & Visualization Process

What: Designed a complex template to streamline the assimilation, processing, and visualization of values obtained from laboratory experiments, ensuring quick comparisons and a clear depiction of chemical kinetics. Started working on automating the data entry process to reduce time futher.

Why: Reduced the time taken for the redundant process by 60% for all future iterations of that experiment set up.

Skills strengthened: creativity, organization, communication, critical thinking, attention to detail, data analysis, adaptability

Technologies used: MS Excel, Python

SQL Success Toolkit

What: Compiled a collection of scripts and document templates necessary for success in a data conversion role into one easily accessible destination to accompany comprehensive training documentation.

Why: Reduces manual input by 70%, eases new-hire transition, cuts training time in half, enhances employee resourcefulness, and lessens the training burden on existing staff.

Skills strengthened: organization, instructional design, technical writing, process documentation, audience awareness, attention to detail

Technologies used: SQL, MS Word

Computational Chemistry Research

What: Conducted a guided comparative study the density of states of two similar inorganic cluster structures (Na₃OCN and Na₃ClO), submitted a final report, and gave a presentation to the extended research group on the findings.

Why: An introduction to research as part of my chemistry degree. This specific project was selected as a simplified version of a larger, collaborative project researching methods of water splitting for hydrogen generation.

Skills strengthened: collaboration, independent learning, communication, technical skills, application of knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving, presenting

Technologies used: Command-line interface, Gabedit, deMon2k (computational chemistry cluster), Molden, MS Word, MS Powerpoint
